Phyllis Shabad is the founder of ExecutiveBrandCoach.com—an executive coaching, career consulting and business communications firm. She has coached CEOs and other senior business leaders worldwide for more than 20 years, helping them break through to secure a seat at the table. Her passion is to brand executives for the C-Suite and boardroom—the only executive coach who focuses on a roadmap and process to pursue both goals concurrently, despite economic headwinds.
A highly trained writer and career management advisor with numerous credentials, Phyllis taught English and journalism at the start of her career. She made the leap to Wall Street where her coaching expertise was sharpened at two major commercial banks, developing financial services executives for performance improvements. Her mission is to advise and collaborate with individuals and companies committed to pursuing excellence in the boardroom, C-Suite and on management teams. Published in numerous career and business books, her writing has been widely praised by editors and clients.

So, how did my passion and purpose begin?
Sometimes, Big Ideas Happen by Chance
Chaos erupted! I was working as a Management Development expert for a Wall Street bank when it became the first commercial bank in U.S. history to fail. Managers exited in droves as a hiring freeze was put in place. There was no rationale to research, write, manage and co-deliver programs across the entire management tier. Instead, individuals and whole teams approached me and said, “Please help me focus on my career!” That’s when the light bulb went off. Shift from management development to the subset of career development.
I began coaching and branding for internal clients at another, larger bank. Eventually, I left to build my own business and serve a larger audience. I was struck, though: Are personal brand discovery and coaching the endpoint?
The solution was to develop a coaching framework that is both structured and custom fit to address specific needs.
Mission Driven: The Difference
As an executive coach I work with clients to identify leadership value, develop and extend skills, set and refine objectives, and meet short- and long-range goals. Key to that process is identification of a personal leadership brand and high potential for senior executive management and Board Director opportunities. I listen hard as clients articulate the challenges that senior executives, CEOs and Board Directors face, with a deep understanding of how to advance relationships with key stakeholders.
